Doing whatever it takes for a better world.
ARS Tecnologia develops custom software, customizable and off-the-shelf programs, and web design projects, and provides IT consulting and technical support.
Operating since March 2020, the company works remotely, serving clients over the internet.
Services
Custom software and apps
Web systems, iOS and Android apps published on the stores, desktop programs in Rust (no Electron) and command line tools. Along with them comes everything that holds it up: the database model, the integrations with the systems already in place and the day-to-day operation.
Data, BI and processes
From scattered data to a metric someone actually follows every week: ETL into a data warehouse, layered SQL views, a metrics catalogue and dashboards. The process side comes from Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC), with particular experience in sales operations — visit routing, sales team productivity and variable pay.
Optimization and simulation
Workforce scheduling and allocation treated as an optimization problem: constructive heuristics, metaheuristics such as adaptive large neighbourhood search (ALNS), constraint programming and multi-objective optimization. Before any policy changes, a simulation bench replays the history and shows what would have been different. Also numerical methods, finite elements and georeferenced data.
Cloud, Linux and infrastructure
AWS infrastructure as code, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, including migrations carried out without taking the service down. On the other side, the basics done well: Linux servers, PostgreSQL, backups, monitoring and the technical support of someone who runs these systems every day.
Applied AI
Agents and automations built on language models inside engineering and operations: code review, backlog grooming, pre-release evaluation and research. The rule never changes — the machine proposes, a person decides.
Projects
-
2020–2026
On-demand workforce platform
All the technology of a retail startup that places workers in shifts at stores and factories: allocation engine, backend, iOS and Android app, Kubernetes infrastructure and BI.
Free software
Projects in Rust, published on GitLab.
coma
A native code editor with no Electron or webview: rope buffer, tree-sitter highlighting for 19 languages, multiple cursors and git integration.
shelf
A desktop app that turns folders of Markdown into a browsable library, with phrase, word or regular-expression search and PDF export.
emulsio
A photo library manager for anyone with terabytes of photos in a single folder: it catalogues the library once into SQLite with a thumbnail cache, sets duplicates and edited versions aside for review, charts how you actually shoot and reorganises the files on disk reversibly.
coda
A simple music player for GNOME, in Rust: it plays the whole Music folder, with the artists on one side and their tracks on the other.
fiu
A command-line Mastodon client, a Rust port of toot: post, read timelines and notifications, schedule posts and export JSON for scripts.
vital
A minimal, fast terminal monitor for CPU, GPU, memory and disk usage: just the numbers that tell you whether the machine is under load, with JSON output for scripts.
donk
In development
A terminal coding agent whose tool output is never seen raw by the model: it goes into a content-addressed store, and what the model reads and what appears on screen are projections of it.
archelon
A single-user ActivityPub server in one binary, compatible with the Mastodon API, to use with the clients you already have.
Who we are
ARS is run by Adriano, an engineer by training. Before founding the company, he spent eight years at a major beverage company in sales and processes, from analyst to sales manager, leading teams of more than 30 people and building software for the sales force. He then founded his own e-commerce business and worked in education.
